Question – how important to you are shoe/boot boxes?
We decided in the beginning to use plain white recycled cardboard boxes for the packaging, but the boxes, after shipping International, usually don’t show so well. Corners break easily and the paper is not real strong. I thought it was a good idea, but I do wish we had a better presentation for the brand. Looking now for quotes for our custom box design, but I am curious if clients really do care about the packaging your boots are packed in.
Wondering……

It’s more importnt for me that the box be made from recycled material than it look good.

I do not keep the boxes. All my shoes are stored in shoe bags, so the quality of the box is not important to me.

I don’t care much at all. I usually throw away the boxes. However… the one box I haven’t thrown away is the plain white one my Rider boots came in! It seems pretty strong to me. I think it’s great that it’s made of recycled material.

I’m not really picky about the boxes either. I look much more favorably on the inclusion of a nice polish and shoe horn. Herrings from the UK always includes a really nice polish with their leather shoes. In the case of cordovan, I suggest you include a small leaflet on care and maintenance.

I seem to be the minority here. I feel as though the box design is a very important part of a shoe brand. Many people keep their shoes in the original boxes so a sturdy one is important as well.

Personally I prefer not to have a box since it just takes up space until recycling day. The more sturdy the box, the harder it is to take apart. A shoe tree adds much more value for me considering that I would have to buy one anyway.

Do the right box Ron. I save the sturdier ones. Make something special of it. And use the logo:)
