Next new addition to the line-up is the Hobo Boot (RBHB v.3) done here in Waterproof Chromexcel Calf from Horween Leathers in Chicago.  We have kept the details the same but added a Crepe sole – we love crepe and it really gives a heavy, sport look to what has become our trademark boot.

Here is our first stock Chukka boot on the 42 last.  This is a last we have used off and on over the years in the shop (Franco’s) and it has always been a great fitting last……nice shape, classic toe, good instep volume – easy fit.  Details on RBCB10:

Highly water-resistent ‘Cape Butt’ suede from Stead

Full calfskin lining (as usual)

Heavy sole work – we use our standard Rapid Construction, use a second layer of crepe that we stitch to the leather midsole then cement the crepe outsole and heel to this crepe second sole.  This makes for a very durable sole work and will help eliminate the one typical drawback to crepe soles – the seperation of the glued seam at the toe.  We love crepe, and wanted to use it, but I thought we needed to solve this ‘problem’.  We did.

We are starting with an early selection of the new 2 eyelet Cape Butt Suede chukka in Polo Brown as well as the RBCB6, which has been a great chukka in Mohawk Roughout Calf.  Then, for Fall, we have some very interesting make-ups coming on-line with the folks there.
