The Balmoral Boot
Available in both Dark Cognac and #6 Shell Cordovan, these fantastic boots are built on 3B last which runs a little large (half size) for sizes up to US 11. I know it sounds strange, but, in reality, this is the conversion from UK to US sizes which this is. Having been on the market for some years, we have a good idea of how to convert based on other fits.
These 9 eyelet boots are Blake/Rapid Construction, double soled, open channel stitching and are fully leather lined.

Looking at the photos of your line from the Collection of Sartorial Excellence event, I am interested in the dark brown, 12 eyelet, captoe boots. Could you provide additional information; construction details, availability and pricing, if that has been determined at this point. The spectator boots are also quite striking!
Thanks in advance, Chuck

Hi Chuck -
Thanks! Appreciate the comment.
Yes, this boot (and a wing version) will be made on the heavier double sole, Blake/Rapid construction in French Calf….Dark Brown will be the stock option. These are expected in April, and will be stocked….price will be $595. Please feel free to email me any size info and I can see about reserving you a pair to try, if this is interesting to you.
Thanks again for looking!

Ron: Thanks for the prompt response. I normally wear a size 9.5D, though there are a few Alden lasts that require me to size down to a 9D. I am quite interested in the captoe boots and can certainly see wearing them in selected dress and all dress casual situations. Thanks again for the prompt response!

Hi,
Great-looking boots! I was wondering if you can tell me how easy it is to re-sole. All of my shoes are currently goodyear-welted, and I’ve heard that it’s harder to repair/resole blake-stitched footwear.
Thanks,
Geoff

Hi Geoff -
ACtually, very easy to resole…..remember, the Blake stitch is an inside stitch and my boots are Blake/Rapid – meaning the key stitch is the outside stitch just like in welt footwear. AND, you can just return to me if/when re-soling is neccessary and I will send to the factory for original work. That’s easiest!

I wear an 8.5D in the Alden Barrie last; 9D in the Plaza last. What would my shoe size be in this last? DO you have it in stock?

Hi Chris -
Thanks for the note! This last (3B) runs large, and should be fit similiar to Barrie last from Alden. All of my other items would require a 9 (I can suggest), but in this case the 8.5 would be the suggestion. Please feel free to contact me directly via the link here……thanks again!

Dear Sir or Madam: I am very interested in purchasing a number of bots in various calf skin colors. The styles shown above in oxblood, cognac, tan and black would be wonderful. I generally wear a size 8d but in an alden i often purchase a size 8.5 with the alden cushion inserted. Please advise as to pricing and avaiability. All the best, Len.

Thanks Len!
Ok….this can be done on a MTO basis – no problems. In calfskin, the price would be $800 and delivery would be around Christmas. We would need to confirm the size in this last before to proceed. Please contact me from the ‘Contact’ page if this is interesting, and I can serve you correctly. Thanks!

Good morning,
I’ve come across your site in my search for just the right balmoral boots. Unfortunately, my choices have been severely limited; I fit nicely into an Allen Edmonds 14AAA. Do I have any hope of finding a captoe formal boot in anything approaching that size? Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.

Hi Adam -
Thanks for looking! Unfortunately, AAA is a width the Italians don’t really understand. At this moment I cannot help, but I have just delivered 2 boots to a client on a B width last made-up for him…..if the results are good then I may start to buy lasts on order, as it was not really that expensive. First, I have to see if the Italian last factory actually does understand the lower insteps here, and if their standard narrower fittings gibe with American feet. Stay tuned -

These are exquisite. Can you let me know how much a MTO would cost in black calf with dark grey suede upper panels (if that’s even possible!). Also do let me know what the timeline to delivery might look like. As a comparison, I take a 13E in most Alden models.

Hello Caldervale-
Thanks for the note! Yes, that could be done without problems…..price for a MTO such as this would be $800 and the delivery, at this time, would probably be in March. We always insist on a fit confirm, so please give me a call (or an email) and we can discuss further, if this is interesting to you.
Thanks,
