I’m real pleased with the way this plaintoe boot turned out….totally different look than it’s dress calfskin cousin.  Here I used the new ‘Reverso (or Maremma) Calfskin’ from Lo Stivale tannery near Pisa.  Lo Stivale is a 100% vegetable tanning operation and this calf is their signature tannage.  Virtually indestructable with a fine hard nap, this leather will take whatever you wish to drag it thru.

RBPB2 in Reverso:

This boot retails for $680 and is built on the great fitting 42 last with Sestriere outsoles, full leather midsole (my standard Rapid construction) with a combination heel.  Purchase options coming tomorrow -

Just boxed up JGilbert Footwear’s Special Edition Hobo boots.  Turned out very, very nice.  We made the basic RBHB1 boot but used the new 100% veg tanned Reverse Calfskin from the Lo Stivale tannery in Tuscany.  Exclusive to J Gilbert and headed out to Seattle today:

now on Franco’s website.

Finally!  Took longer than anticipated, but looks like it was worth the wait.  My friends at Horween and I got together to come up with a custom color of Shell Cordovan for John Gilbert and his crew in Seattle.  We called it Walnut, and it turned out great.  On the train from Richmond tomorrow….should be there next week.

Also, we have made 2 runs of RBHB1 (Hobo Boot) in the Tuscan ‘Reverso’ Calf which have just left Italy, and we should have out to Seattle in a week or two.

More boots are arriving.  My friend Stephane at Blake & Goodyear (http://www.facebook.com/BlakeAndGoodyear) has just recived a run of RBCB3 in #6 Shell Cordovan.

In Japan, Strasburgo and Baybrook have received more roughout chukka’s, Hobo Boots, Scotch Grained chukka’s and Reverso Boots.

And, last but not least, for our Ladies customers…..who may happen to be in Sofia, Bulgaria, well, a few Black Calf Numbers await at Gio Metodiev:

Thanks All -

ps – USA new goods info coming next week.

until further notice.  Unfortunately, we were not able to organize a delivery that fit with what I confirmed this Summer, and a start with this program in November/December is not something I want to do.  Just too late in the Season.  At this point I have cancelled my production agreement with the factory in Maine.  I am contacting all those with reservations on file, as I will be receiving NO more merchandise at this time.  I appreciate all those that have expressed interest in what I planned out of Maine, but it’s just not going to happen this Season I am sorry to say.

I continue to support Rancourt & Co Handsewers in Lewiston, and if you see them out there anywhere, do not hesitate to consider – great handsewns made by great people.

Cheers -

Ron
